Bedugul Area

Bedugul is a name of area in the middle of Bali Island, which is famous with the floating temple on the lake and fresh air. Actually there are 3 lakes in that area, Bratan, Buyan, and Tamblingan. But the most famous is the biggest one, Bratan, because easy to get (on the way Denpasar-Singaraja), and famous with Ulun Danu temple and some water sport facilities. To enter the temple, we need to pay around 3$ per person for foreigner. If u rent some boat, u can see the temple from the lake but cannot step on that area.

The second lake is Buyan, from the first one, need to go few kilometers to Singaraja direction, and will be a sign in left side before the road go up. Sometimes need to pay for parking, but mostly none ask. On the way to lake, surrounding by strawberry and vegetables plantation, so we can buy and pick which one and how much that u want.

Here also there is a temple but not on the lake, few times I've been there but the gates is always closed. The view here is more nice, green and quiet. Not so many people come here, mostly just for fishing and praying.

The third lake is just beside the second one, but need to go to north side first. So from the second lake, go up to the hill (Singaraja direction), and on the way we can see some monkeys waiting for food. We can stop at some parking area for take pictures or give food for monkeys. On the top of hill, there is a junction, choose left to Munduk direction. From here we can see the second and third lakes in left side, there are some few pints and restaurant on the way.

And then when the road start to go down, turn left at the first junction. Actually there is a sign "Danau Tamblingan" but not so clear, so just drive slowly.

From the junction just follow the road go down, and then will be place for ticketing, but I never pay because the didn't asked me to stop :P So just driving on the road and we will enter a small village in the lake area with big trees. This lake also has a temple, and when water going up, this temple will looks like floating. Just go around the edge of lake, and get the best angle to take picture. A friend tried to swim, water is not so cold, but many fishing net, so be carefully! Also can rent a boat and paddling around the lake.

Another place to see in Bedugul is Bali Botanical Garden, it's not far from the first lake. So if u come from Denpasar, there will be a junction with corn statue. Turn left with the gate of "Kebun Raya Eka Karya, Bali Botanical Garden". Ticket per person is just 7000 IDR and u can go around the area by walking. But if u want to drive car, need to pay 2$ per car. There are many kinds of plants, such a rainy forest, cactus, roses, begonia, healing and view points to see the first lake. Very nice place to relax with friends or family.
